The Passing of the Jest

The Passing of the Jest Ancient calendars shifted their yearly start, Leaving behind those slow to depart. Once a joyous spring feast of play, Now marks a deceptive, prank-filled day. From France to distant western shores, Laughter echoed through open doors. Yet some nations fear the spreading lie, Banning tricks as the hours fly by. Truth stands guarded in a digital age, Turning history's mischievous, dusty page. The fool’s crown begins to slowly fade, In a world where honest trust is made. Between Two Worlds: A Prayer for PeacePrayer for Peace

Image
Between Two Worlds: A Prayer for Peace Within this weathered granite, I trace a time I once knew,   As summer fades away into a gold and auburn hue.   Between these two worlds, my weary soul seeks a trace,   Of a single drop of peace, a cooling rain of grace.   The selfish world keeps rushing, chasing shadows for its gain,   Yet deep within, my spirit cries to wash away the pain.   On this night, the entire world is thirsting for release,   Beneath this vast and hopeful sky, we pray for lasting peace.   Soon I’ll chase the southern sun to Kerala’s verdant shore,   And carry this same silent prayer, as I have done before.   Between these two worlds, my soul continues to roam,   Seeking that cooling rain of peace, to lead the spirit home.   GR Kaviyoor 08 04 2026 (Canada, Toronto)

A Poet's Farewell: Mike and Mabo | Toronto to Kerala 2026

Image
Mike and Mabo  A Farewell from Toronto: The Pilot and the Poet As my departure for God's Own Country draws near, I find myself reflecting on the quiet, meaningful connections made here on the shores of Ontario. One such friendship blossomed right near my door. It began with a daily "Hi" and "Hello" while Mike was out with his faithful companion, Mabo. Over time, those brief greetings turned into an invitation for evening tea and a shared bottle of fine red wine, as the lake breeze drifted through the hallway. I was deeply moved to learn about Mike’s incredible legacy. A pilot from France with a soulful presence, he is the grandson of Frank Murphy, the legendary founder of Murphy Radio. For those of us from India, that name carries a grand nostalgia. Here is a tribute to that beautiful evening and a friendship I will carry in my heart back to Kerala.   Mike and Mabo Near the door, a familiar reverb, A playful noise to be let out; Grey hair with a YoMaShiPoo, A tw...
