The Passing of the Jest

 The Passing of the Jest

Ancient calendars shifted their yearly start,
Leaving behind those slow to depart.
Once a joyous spring feast of play,
Now marks a deceptive, prank-filled day.

From France to distant western shores,
Laughter echoed through open doors.
Yet some nations fear the spreading lie,
Banning tricks as the hours fly by.

Truth stands guarded in a digital age,
Turning history's mischievous, dusty page.
The fool’s crown begins to slowly fade,
In a world where honest trust is made.
