Waiting Soil

Waiting Soil

The earth grew weary in summer's heat,
Cracks were filled with silent pain,
Eyes searched the distant clouds,
Hope gazed patiently at the sky.

The breeze arrived bearing a message,
Thunder sang of coming promise,
Lightning sketched a joyful smile,
Nature paused and held its breath.

The first raindrop touched the ground,
A fragrance rose and filled the heart,
Life awakened as tender green,
The earth smiled in gratitude.
