The Fading Lamp

The Fading Lamp

In the lap of evening, a flame trembled,
The wick slowly lowered its glow,
Winds circled from every side,
Yet the light continued its struggle.

Footsteps of darkness drew nearer,
Shadows spread across the walls,
Courage refused to fade away,
Faith stood guard within.

A sign of dawn appeared afar,
Sunbeams prepared for their journey,
The ending did not become defeat,
Its existence remained a message.
