Last Moment of Daylight

Last Moment of Daylight

The fading glow of the sun,
Melted into the horizon.
The last moment of daylight,
Fell gently into the hands of evening.

The shadows of branches,
Drew long paths across the earth.
The homeward flight of birds,
Left its mark upon the sky.

All the bustle of the day,
Dissolved into silence.
In the last moment of daylight,
The heart discovered peace.
