The Emerald Guardian

 The Emerald Guardian

Perched upon the verdant leaf,
A tiny life in silent prayer.
Like a shadow, still and brief,
In forest's lap, you linger there.

Glistening wings with diamond light,
Catching the sun in a golden glow.
No thirst for blood, no urge to bite,
Only the nectar’s sweetness you know.

Guardian of the world so deep,
A marvel in such a fragile frame.
While all the earth is fast asleep,
You celebrate life’s humble name.
