Path of Lengthening Shadows

In the fading light of evening,  
The shadows slowly grew longer.  
Beside the empty roadside,  
Silence quietly settled down.  

Within the gentle movement of wind,  
Memories drifted softly near.  
Words left forever unspoken,  
Lingered within the heart.  

A distant fading light,  
Became a sign of coming dawn.  
Along the path of lengthening shadows,  
Hope continued beside the soul.
