When I stopped chasing

When I stopped chasing every nod,
I finally heard my own heartbeat.

When I released the need to please,
my soul loosened its tight knots.

Not everyone must understand me,
not everyone must stay.

I am not made for approval,
I am made for authenticity.

In choosing myself gently,
I found a quieter strength.

Loving myself first
was never selfish — it was freedom.
