Ego

 Ego

Ego, in what form does it dwell
Within the walls of the mind,
Adorning them silently,
Spreading beyond even one’s own shadow—
Know it as it grows.

His sun
Descends toward the horizon,
Clouds of pride
Veiling the path of light.

When the thought of “self”
Rises like a fortress,
All other presences
Shrink quietly away.

Yet remember—
The moment the light fades,
Shadows too
Lose their existence.

The day ego calms,
The mind once more
Recognizes
The illuminating truth.
