“The Hearts We Overlook”

“The Hearts We Overlook”

Eyes searching only others’ faults
Forgetting hearts standing nearby
Ignoring affection offered silently
Overlooking souls filled with warmth

Mockery dims subtle kindness
Supportive spirits go unnoticed
Judgments cloud gentle thoughts
Doubts hide tomorrow’s light

Truthful companions grow weary
Comforting presence turns distant
Helping hands feel unwelcomed
Finally the mind drifts into emptiness
