Fire Rain

Fire Rain

In the fire-rain, burning dust rises with the trembling wind
From split clouds, crimson flames descend to earth
The land lies dark beneath drifting layers of smoke
Silent roads stretch long, trembling with hidden fear

Trees crumble softly, shivering in their final pain
Bird-dreams melt away in the heat of falling embers
The river glides gently, carrying grey threads of ash
Sand glows fiercely, stinging every step with heat

Rocks burst open, scattering fiery fragments wide
Villages drown in shadows filled with muted cries
Tears gleam like dying sparks in human eyes
Mother Earth, who bears all, seeks quiet comfort in silence
