poem Halloween, Ghosts, and Kumatti
Preface on
poem
Halloween, Ghosts, and Kumatti
Festivals light up our lives in many ways—
Golden lamps, playful shadows, songs, and dances.
From Diwali in India to Halloween in Canada,
Though traditions differ across lands and hearts,
The joy, love, and warmth they bring are the same everywhere.
poem
Halloween, Ghosts, and Kumatti
Diwali shines with golden glow,
Darkness fades, bright lights bestow.
Homes are filled with joy and cheer,
Dreams awaken, hearts sincere.
On Halloween night, streets of Canada gleam,
Pumpkin lamps dance with playful beam.
Children laugh, shadows sway,
Ancestors’ blessings light the way.
In Bengal, Bhoot Chaturdashi night,
Memories of forebears awaken in light.
Lamps flicker, their stories told,
Love and care in every fold.
Tamil Nadu hums with Aadi songs,
Faith and devotion make hearts strong.
Kerala blooms in Onam’s delight,
Kumatti masks dance through the night.
Across the world, festivals unite,
Hearts beat together in joy and light.
Though customs differ, love remains,
Kindling forever, life sustains.
