High Above the City

High Above the City

From the tower’s crown, I gazed afar,
Rail tracks gleamed like threads of star.
Buildings rose like blocks of stone,
Tiny figures moved alone along the streets.

Sky embraced the restless ground,
Wheels kept turning with endless sound.
Windows sparkled, clear and bright,
Dreams remained hidden, hopes alight.

Silence flowed in a quiet corner,
An old face stretched hands, showing lost dignity.
Great heights revealed both shine and fall,
The city tells its stories, big and small.
