River of Two Shores

River of Two Shores

Long ago, the Ganga sent her sister westward,
carrying blessings in silver waters,
seeking a land of maple winds and vast lakes—
there she became Humber, guardian of two worlds.

Moonlight wrapped the quiet harbour sky,
whispers traveled beneath her arms,
lotus rested in cool green shade,
songs of sweetness rose along the shores.

Upon the flowing waves, Goddess Lakshmi smiled,
the current guarded forgotten caves,
heritage merged within drifting streams,
and far away, dreams began to bloom.

Temple bells met the flight of seabirds,
jasmine fragrance mingled with northern light,
stories bound the lands of sunset,
wisdom streamed through unseen hands.

When the full moon came,
both rivers sang the same melody across oceans,
embracing dreams between distant shores—
uniting hearts beneath one sky.
