Excessive Desire

Excessive Desire

Desire burns like a hidden flame,
Dreams arise like clouds without shame.

Hands stretch far for endless gain,
Hearts forget joy, embrace the pain.

Eyes long for gold, to touch the skies,
Truth gets shattered beneath the lies.

Steps tremble on darkened ways,
Peace is lost, as night steals days.

Greed builds walls around the soul,
Shadows capture every goal.

Love alone can break the chain,
Simple life soothes every pain.
