Destruction

Destruction

Flames leap high, the night turns red,
Walls collapse, the streets are spread.
Smoke hides skies, the stars grow pale,
Crying winds tell a heavy tale.

Oceans rage beyond their shore,
Forests fall, they breathe no more.
Mountains break with thunder’s roar,
Ashes drift from door to door.

Yet from dust new roots will rise,
Tears will clear the clouded skies.
Pain will fade, the scars will heal,
Time will teach what loss can feel.
