The Echo of Sound

The Echo of Sound

A whisper drifts across the air,
Footsteps vanish on wooden stair.
Rain taps gently on dusty leaves,
Wind hums soft through evening eaves.

Heartbeat thunders in quiet hall,
Clock ticks slowly against the wall.
Waves crash wild on distant shore,
Laughter fades behind closed door.

Pages flutter with passing breeze,
Chimes awaken forgotten trees.
Breath breaks stillness just before dawn,
Music lingers though light is gone.
