EMBER

EMBER

In the distance, a silent memory sparked,
A flame glowed on a desert of forgotten sands.
Even in the wilderness, warmth lingers within,
The thirst of waiting burns without touch.

Was it love that waited like an ember—or thirst?
The music of hardness beyond all words.
Even the wind dares not pass me by,
An unending darkness, even beneath the moonlight.

Behind each smile, the shine of silent pain,
Surrender, unaware of the burn it invites.
Between cold and heat, truth glows like an ember—
A final word beyond forgetfulness: ignition.
