You Were a Book I Longed to Read

You Were a Book I Longed to Read

You were a book I longed to read,
Each page a dream, a whispered need.
Lines you wrote with silent grace,
Held my heart in their soft embrace.

In every word, a secret shone,
A world within I called my own.
Sometimes rain, sometimes the sun,
You were the start, you were not done.

Your pages spoke in gentle hue,
Of love, of pain, and all that’s true.
I return again with tearful eyes,
To read your tale that never dies.
