joyful light.

joyful light.

O Lord, my soul is lost in a stormy sea,
Waves of sorrow crash upon my weary heart.
Enemies surround me with harsh might and decree,
Yet in my innocence, I turn to You for a fresh start.

I have walked in shame, burdened by bitter rain,
And mocked at the city gate in simple despair.
In fasting and tears, I have borne much pain,
But You, O Lord, remain my hope and care.

Rescue me from deep waters and fierce, wild winds,
Let the rising dawn dispel the dark of night.
Fill my soul with mercy, where pure love begins,
So I may sing Your name with newfound, joyful light.
